Endless horizons
To experience empowerment is to be put in direct communication with the sphere of energy; the dimension of personal experience in which the horizons of human possibility are endless.

Communicating with dignity
When it can take as long to spell out an acronym or letterisation in speech – there is more dignity in using the words the initials represent. A Vajrayana practitioner needs to communicate with dignity – because Mind, Speech, and Body need to be the focus of practice in every arena of life.

The interface with the sense fields
The arts are bodhicitta. The connection is quite clear; especially when you look at the level of humanitarianism among artists. Beyond that however, one has the interface with the sense fields as the arena in which bodhicitta communicates.

You can feel with your mind and think with your nose
What is it like to look at a mountain, or a cherry? What is it like to hear bird-song? What is it like to feel velvet? Is this a one-way process – or is this, in some inexpressible way, a communication? You see, the intellect is a sense field. You don't have to understand everything through that one sense field. The fundamental genius of Tantra is that the sense fields are interconnected. You can feel with your mind and think with your nose.

Trust
Trusting yourself – in the sense of meditation, is a question of expanding—of slowly expanding the expression of sitting. Through sitting, self-existent communication is discovered as the nature of the world. It becomes a completely real world, rather than a world of bewilderment and pain. You begin to trust yourself because you begin to trust the nature of the elements; the nature of your perception; the nature of your emotions; the nature of your physicality; and, the nature of your psychology. It is all there to see and it is an open space.p205, Emailing the Lamas from Afar, Ngakpa Chögyam and Khandro Déchen, Aro Books, 2009, ISBN 978-0-9653948-5-7

Passion beyond passion
We see desire as an important aspect of the path. Without desire there is no compassion, as desire is the energy of appreciative communication. This is not spoken of in Sutrayana or the outer tantras. From Mahayoga onward – desire is fuel for the fire of discriminating insight. Desire is the passion beyond passion: compassion. It was Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche who first described compassion as ‘the passion beyond passion’. From an inner tantra point of view, lust is simply the dualized form of the appreciative communication of bodhicitta. p50, Emailing the Lamas from Afar, Ngakpa Chögyam and Khandro Déchen, Aro Books, 2009, ISBN 978-0-9653948-5-7

Letting go of the world of fixed references
"To move into the sphere of intimate symbolic communication with the Lama, is to let go of the world of fixed references. It's an experience, or taste of the spacious dimension of existence."
