The essential method

The essential method is to be free in the nature of chaos. We always look for pattern in order to understand anything – but that kind of understanding is manacled to mundane meaning unless one can allow understanding to be amorphous, nebulous, unstructured, formless, or unformed.

Division

Duality, in whatever human context, always produces division.  The ways in which ‘division’ expresses itself are endless.  Each way in which ‘division’ expresses itself also provides a method of dissolving that division.

One wing

A wingless bird cannot fly.  A bird with one wing also cannot fly.   One requires both method and wisdom.

Discovering the nature of reality

Inclusivity

There is space for historical academic research, and there is space for the reverential attribution of teachings to various personages.  There is space for people who want to get as close as they can to the words of Padmasambhava and Yeshé Tsogyel—and there is space for people who want to go for the essence irrespective of the nearness or distance of its historical origin.  Buddhism is a vast field of wonder for its sincere practitioners, and so many, many, many different methods are encompassed within its parameters.  We feel that it is preferable to come from a position of inclusivity rather than exclusivity.

Contradiction but no conflict

   There's only a problem, in the contradictory nature of different paths, if you fail to realise that their differences lie in the difference between their bases (where you begin).  Their bases are different because the relative capacities of individuals are different.  This means that what is a useful method for one person, could merely be an obstacle for another.  Once you have a fundamental understanding of this, it becomes very simple.  Then, not only will there be no conflict between different vehicles of Buddhism as to how and when they are presented but; you'll also come to understand the methods of any religion. 
This is the true basis of tolerance.

Method
